MARK 1 - DIGITAL LOAD LIMITER

The digital Mark 1 load limiter is operated by a microcontroller that:
  • monitors dynamic effects in real time
  • carries out a constant self-check
  • monitors overload and slack rope
  • generates a 0-10 V calibrated output that can drive displays, frequency converters, PLC, ...
  • accepts load cell inputs in mV and mA
Extremely user-friendly adjustment:
  • take the zero load (usually only the hook), push the button ... the zero reference is adjusted
  • take the nominal load, push the button ... the overload is adjusted

DYNAMIC FORCES:

Dynamic effects occur when using hoisting devices. When "quick starting" or "inching", conventional load limiters equipped with a timedelay and filter can interpret dynamic effects as an overload condition. This can result in a stop of the hoisting device and can also cause extra wear.

The INDILOAD Mark 1 is equipped with mathematical processors and specially developed algorithms that can interpret these dynamic effects in "real time". So, the response time of the Mark 1 is much shorter than with conventional load limiters. This unique system thus guarantees increased safety during use, less wear, cost saving and user-friendliness.

DATACARD - BLACK BOX SYSTEM FOR CRANES

SPECIFICATIONS

DATACARD
The DATACARD can be supplied as :
  • an optional card to be built in in the housing of the Mark 1
  • an independent unit, in it's own housing, to be used with any system with a 0-10 V output

The following inputs have to be wired to get all this information :

  • a contact input for hoisting
  • a contact input for lowering
  • a contact input for traversing (left or right)
  • a contact input for travelling (forward or backward)
  • a 0 - 10 V input corresponding to the load
INDISOFT

This powerful software (Windows version) combines several functions :
  • INITIALISATION : before using the datacard, the initialisation procedure programs date, time, serial number and calibrates the 0-10V input
  • DOWNLOAD : enables data to be transferred from the datacard to the PC
  • CLEAR : clears the memory of the datacard
  • VISUALISATION : display of downloaded data as tables and graphics. This extremely userfriendly software enables to plan maintenance, to detect unproductive hours and to reorganise production methods.

OPTIONS

The signal conditioner is a load cell amplifier giving supply to up to 4 load cells and converting the mV input into an analogue output, 0 - 10 V or 4 - 20 mA. Together with an INDIDisplay the signal conditioner can be used as a weight indication system.
The 4 - digit 100 mm height display is equipped with ultra bright LEDs to ensure easy to read figures. The 0 - 10 VDC input allows to use the display as well with the calibrated 0 - 10 V output from the INDILOAD Mark 1 as with any other device equipped with a 0 - 10 VDC output.
Very userfriendly calibration with push buttons and a tare input make this display multifunctional.

INDILOAD PROGRAMMING UNIT

The program console allows the installer to check, view and even adjust the parameters stored in the Mark 1 microcontroller's memory.
The main features are :

  • calibration without 100 % test weights
  • calibration of second setpoint without test weights
  • auto checking of hardware, calibration parameters and load cell
  • tuning and checking of algorithms
  • checking the algorithm which detected the overload
  • weight indication

The programming unit is also used to program the sumcard.

INDILOAD SUMCARD

The sumcard limits the load of a crane with two crabs when the capacity of the crane is less than the sum of the capacities of both crabs.
By equipping each crab with an INDILOAD Mark 1 and installing a sumcard in one of the two Mark 1's, the load of each crab is separately limited while the combined load of both crabs can be limited at the same time.
The sumcard has two setpoints and an analogue 0 - 10 V output. It can also be used with one Mark 1 to have 2 extra setpoints.
It can be supplied as :

  • an optional card to be built in in the housing of the Mark 1
  • an independent unit, in it's own housing, to be used with any system with a 0-10 V output

The sumcard is programmed by the programming unit.

SWP LOAD MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR HOISTS

The SWP-LOAD is an electronic device with two main functions :
overload protection and calculation of the SWP (Safe Working period) of a hoist.
Furthermore the device supervises other parameters of the hoist :
  • slack rope detection
  • control of the wear of the brakes
  • control of engine overheating
  • number of starts
  • number of inchings
  • number of working hours
  • number of overloads
  • load indicator

Also a Maintenance Management Module is integrated in the SWP-LOAD, indicating the operator when the hoist needs service, taken into consideration the SWP-time.

SWP THEORY
For technical and safety reasons it is important to know the "safe working period" related to the real loads on the hoist. This SWP will indicate the time left for the operator to use the hoist in technically safe conditions.
The calculation of the remaining SWP will consider the following parameters :

  • D : theoretical total working period at nominal load
  • K : real load factor (= real load/nominal load, with Kmin = 0,5)
  • t : working time of the hoist

and will be calculated according to the following formula :

MARK E "LOW COST" LOAD LIMITER

The advantages of an electronic limiter at the price of an electromechanical
one.
The Mark E is a simple electronic load limiter with a single setpoint, to be mounted on a DIN rail. As opposed to the classic electronic limiter that usually works with load cells generating a mV output, the Mark E input is a 4-20 mA signal. Amplification occurs in the load cell. The advantage is that the distance between the load cell and the limiter is no longer restricted and can easily stretch to 100 meters.
The Mark E enables adjustement to be carried out at a safe place (and not at the fixed point as in case of an electromechanical limiter) and this also with calibration weights below 110 % of the nominal load.
Further advantages over the electromechanical limiter are the hysteresis function, the inbuilt time delay and the input signal filter. The latter two ensure that the Mark E does not interpret dynamic effects as overloads.
Very easy to install and adjust.
The ideal product for applications where a load limiter is needed without any options.
